Regenerative agriculture for every farm

Rapid regeneration for conventionally farmed fields during operation with RESOIL

Makes soils healthy. Makes farms strong and independent.

100% organic. The first regenerative alternative to mineral fertilizers that is also economical during ongoing operation.

RESOIL by TERRA8 is the first regenerative fertilizer method that allows even conventional farms to switch from mineral fertilizers to a nature-based method. No entry barriers and no loss of earnings - 100% organic.

Global regeneration needs a solution beyond the organic niche

If the regeneration of our soils continues to take place only in a small niche, in the foreseeable future there will be no more fields that can easily provide us all with high-quality and affordable food.

Regenerative agriculture needs to get out of the niche and into conventional agriculture.

This doesn’t work through politics, but through an affordable and easy-to-use fertilization method without major barriers to entry. The method must fit the workflows and the business economics of conventional farms.

RESOIL is precisely this method and is made available by TERRA8 to every farm (including organic farms, of course, because it can be easily certified by FiBL and integrated into organic processes).

This is what RESOIL brings to the soil

Basic nutrients N-P-K as main fertilizer
Additive nutrients Mg-S-Cl
Micronutrients in large quantity and variety
living humus in large quantity
living soil bacteria in large quantity and diversity
living soil fungi in great quantity and variety

What RESOIL does in the field

restarts the symbiotic soil life
increases storage capacity for water and nutrients
Constantly loosens the soil due to fungal braiding
Improves the biological availability of nutrients
Protects groundwater from nitrate input
stops soil erosion
Increases diversity and number of microorganisms
Supports the regeneration of the diversity and number of insects
Increases the pollination performance by insects
holds large amounts of water in the upper soil layer
Reduces from year to year the need for supplementation with nutrients
Relieves flood zones
Protects crops during dry periods
Improves crop yield
Improves quality and nutritional content of the fruit
Reduces the need for crop protection products

...and all this at combined costs that are cost-effective on any conventional farm (and on organic farms as well).

Decentralized, highly efficient structure

TERRA8's customers produce RESOIL locally and independently on the farm using biomass from the local material cycle

TERRA8 provides member companies with methodological expertise, expert advice, calculation tools, microorganisms and organic additives. No need to send trucks of fertilizer across the world.

That is why RESOIL is practical and scalable

Tailor-made for the current reality in agricultural businesses

Organic regenerative fertilization methods available to date (permaculture, effective microorganisms, etc.) are primarily optimized for soil regeneration properties. This pays off well on small areas, but the market conditions and operational parameters of today’s farms do not allow for widespread conversion to these methods in the short term.

RESOIL is optimized in every detail for today’s common workflows and the ever-shrinking margins of conventional farming operations. The RESOIL process manages to overcome all major obstacles to regenerative full fertilization in conventional agriculture. With RESOIL, it’s “clear sailing for the big changeover!”

That's why the need for an alternative is so great:

1. denatured soils

Decades of fertilization with mineral fertilizers have brought the natural, soil-own nutrient stocks to the minimum. The process of leaching of arable soils comes to the final stage after decades. Without large quantities of mineral fertilizers, the required yields and qualities can hardly be achieved on a growing number of fields

2. lower precipitation

Rainfall in Germany and Europe has become less overall and is more unevenly distributed than in the past. Ground water has become significantly less. The denatured soils hold very little water, so crops are increasingly drying out.

3. price explosion for mineral fertilizer

Common agrochemical mineral fertilizers, which are largely made from natural gas and require a lot of energy, have experienced price jumps of up to 400% since the beginning of 2021 in the EU. The availability of chemical fertilizers at profitable prices ruptured, and the complete dependence of the food supply on global supply chains, world politics, and monopolistic suppliers in the fertilizer industry was comprehensively demonstrated.

4. pressure from politics

Without regard to the consequences for food production, the EU and its member states are imposing ever lower upper limits on the amount of mineral fertilizer allowed in the field. Agro-political tunnel vision on climate and water protection is already making food production at the required price level impossible on many fields.

= The result

The cost-yield calculation in conventional arable farming no longer adds up for a growing proportion of farms. However, organic regenerative fertilizer alternatives available to date are impossible to use without significant investment and yield loss. Medium-sized and small farms in Germany and Europe are at a crossroads.

! The solution

RESOIL can provide the soils with the necessary amounts of nutrients and that in an organic way without coming into conflict with the regulations. RESOIL can do this in a cost-neutral way with local availability from the farm’s own material cycle. At the same time, the natural nutrient reserves are rebuilt to a high degree with the soil life and the fertilizer requirement is reduced more and more over the years.

Farmers urgently seek solutions

Since 2021, we have been talking to agricultural businesses, associations and networks in Germany and Europe. The business pressures on farms are increasing steadily and at an ever faster pace.

Invest in the future of the European food supply with TERRA8

90% of the population’s food supply depends on conventional farms, which cultivate an average of 60 hectares. Let’s get regeneration and supply security out of the niche and into the big picture for everyone!
